Larix Broadcaster (iOS & Android)

Larix Broadcaster is a free app available for iOS and Android devices that allows you to live stream your phone or tablet's camera, directly to StreamSpot.

To set up Larix Broadcaster to stream to StreamSpot, follow the instructions below:

Setup Instructions for iOS devices (manual setup)

  1. Download 'Larix Broadcaster' from the App Store.
  2. When the download is complete, open the app
  3. Allow any permissions that it requests

  4. Tap the settings button (represented by a gear icon)

  5. Select "Connections" - then hit the plus-icon (+) in the top-right of the screen, to setup a new connection.

  6. Name the connection "StreamSpot" - now you'll need to enter your RTMP Address and Stream Key. You can find these from your MyStreamSpot Customer Portal on the 'Setup' page.

    > In the URL field - you need to enter your RTMP Address, followed by a forward-slash, followed by your Stream Key, the image below will show you the proper way to format the URL.

    > Tap "Save" when you've entered the Name and URL. Leave the other settings as-is.

  7. Navigate back to the main settings page, and select "Capture and Encoding"

    > The iOS settings panel will open. Scroll down and find and select "Larix" - the iOS settings for the Larix Broadcaster app will open.

    > Select "Video"

  8. Ensure that your video settings match the settings pictured below:

  9. Press the back button, now select "Audio" and ensure the settings match the settings pictured below:

  10. Press the back button, now select "Recording" and make sure the settings match the settings pictured below:

  11. Close the settings window, return to the main-screen of the Larix Broadcaster app, press the big red button to start streaming, press it again to stop streaming.

Setup Instructions for Android devices (manual setup)

    1. Download 'Larix Broadcaster' from the Google Play Store.
    2. When the download is complete, open the app
    3. Allow any permissions that it requests

    5. Select "Connections" - then "New Connection"

    6. Name the connection "StreamSpot" 

    7. Supply your RTMP Address and Stream Key, which you can find in your MyStreamSpot Portal on the Setup Equipment page.

      > In the URL field - you need to enter your RTMP Address, followed by a forward-slash, followed by your Stream Key, the image below will show you the proper way to format the URL.

      > Once you've finished entering your name and URL, tap "Save"

    8. Return to the main settings page with the back arrow, select "video"

      > Ensure that your video settings match the ones in the image below, the settings that you are most likely to need to adjust from their defaults, are highlighted in the image.

    9. Return to the main settings page, select "audio"

      > Ensure that your audio settings match the ones in the image, the settings that you are most likely to need to change, are highlighted below.

    10. Return to the main settings page, select "record / snapshot"

      Enable "record stream"

      11. Exit settings. Point your device at what you wish to capture, and press the big red circle button to start streaming and recording! Press the big red square button to stop!

Assisted Setup

It is possible for the StreamSpot team to generate a fully pre-configured 'profile' for you to use with Larix Broadcaster. You can acquire this profile by scanning a QR code, or copying and pasting a special line of text.

When you scan the QR code or paste the special line of text, your Larix Broadcaster app will automatically be configured with the optimal settings to stream to StreamSpot.
